Bethany Community Organizations

Bethany Woman's Club, also known as the GFWC-WVFWC, belongs to the General Federation of Woman's Clubs and the West Virginia Federation. They are involved in many worthwhile projects. Their meetings are 7:00 pm on the third Monday of each month from Sept thru May.

The Christian Women's Fellowship meets at noon the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Bethany Memorial Church.  New members are always welcome.

The Bethany Book Club, comprised of women from the community,  meets the last Tuesday of each month.  Meetings are held in the members' homes, during which time a member reviews a book of her choice.

The Eastern Star and the Masons are active organizations.  Eastern Star meets at 7:30pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month throughout the year at the Masonic Building.  The Masons meet the 1st Tuesday of each month throughout the year at the Masonic Building.

The 4-H is active in Bethany, meeting the first Monday of every month at the Bethany Memorial Church at 7 p.m.

Each spring the Bethany Community Recreation Association sends a letter to homes for a donation, usually $10, to cover the cost of replacing picnic tables, maintaining the ball fields, buying playground equipment, and providing general upkeep.  In April a door-to-door campaign takes place to obtain contributions from those who did not respond to the letter or had not received the necessary information. The officials of the Association are:

President:  Charles Schwertfeger
Vice-President:  Rusty Schwertfeger
Park Manager:  Russell Schwertfeger
